QryAITell us you want it

In preparation

QryAI

Read it as “query AI.”

It will let people who need answers out of a database ask in plain words, read the query it writes, approve it and get the answer, without writing SQL.

Tell us you want it
Which paid ordershave not shipped? it writes the query read-only SELECT id, customerFROM ordersWHERE paid = trueAND shipped_on IS NULL; Run it? your yes it reads Three paid orders have not shipped. idcustomer1043Ana1051Ben1066Cleo
A sketch with made-up rows, not a working product.

What it will do

Planned, in four steps.

  1. Ask.

It will take your question the way you would say it to a colleague, and ask back when it could mean two things.

  2. Read.

It will write a read-only query, show it to you and explain it line by line in plain words.

  3. Approve.

Nothing will run until you say yes. You will be able to change the question or the query.

  4. Answer.

It will give the answer in a sentence and a small table, with the query kept beside it so you can check it.

Planned underneath: it will profile your schema, so it knows your tables and columns before it writes a line.

A copy first, a backup first, and nothing will run without your yes.Its queries are planned to only read. Changing data will not be its job.

Who it is for

People who run the business

You know what you want to know, and you wait on someone else each time it takes a query.

People who keep the records

Office managers and bookkeepers who live in exports and would rather ask the source.

Developers on an unfamiliar schema

You will get a readable first draft of a query, and still check it before it runs.

A brother site

qryai.com will ask the database questions. aipromptbase.com will prepare and fix it.

Questions

Is QryAI available now?

Not yet. It is in preparation and has no opening date.

Will it change my data?

It is planned to work on a copy first and show every query before it runs, and its queries are planned to only read. Nothing is available yet.

Do I need to know SQL?

No, that is the plan: you will ask in plain words. The query will be shown so that anyone who reads SQL can check it, and it will come with a plain explanation for everyone else.

Can I trust the answer?

Check it: that is why the query will be shown. A query can run without error and still miss what you meant, so it will explain what it asked and ask you back when a question could mean two things.

Which databases will it work with?

Postgres, MySQL and SQLite are the databases we plan for.

What happens to my email?

It arrives as one message to the team. We use it to reply to you, add it to no list and share it with no one.

Who is behind it?

Digital Real Estate, which prepares online businesses on the domains it owns.
